The forums section of asetexas.org is still relatively new, and we're working on making the area as efficient, useful, and fun as possible. You can help by reading the guidelines before posting.
All registered users of asetexas.org can post to most forums on the site-that's right, only one login! That being said, site membership isn't monitored, so it's possible that non-ASET members may be using the forums. Please keep this in mind before posting information that is private. In the Introductions section, only registered members can view posts. In all other forums, anyone on the Internet can read (but not post).
The forums are actively moderated. No profanity will be tolerated-your posts will be deleted and you will be banned. It's quite possible that younger astronomers will read the boards, and we'd like to protect them from such things.
Please try as hard as possible to keep posts in an appropriate forum or sub-forum. For instance, if one posts about a recent meteor shower in an equipment forum, things will get very confusing as the forums get larger! If you can't find an appropriate sub-forum, please reply to this post with a request. Remember, however, that especially in the early days of our discussion boards, it's important to keep the total number of forums down. Read http://www.phpbb.com/blog/2009/03/18/how-many-forums-should-i-create/ for more information.
OK, that's the basics-let's have fun!
